Call for Artists: Public Artwork
Town of Collingwood
May 17, 2021
The Town of Collingwood invites Ontario-based artists (including artist teams) to submit their
credentials and interest to the first stage of a competition for public artwork to be installed at the Tremont Plaza in downtown Collingwood in 2022.
For this project, the Town of Collingwood is seeking public artwork to celebrate LGBTQ+ life. In particular, works are encouraged that consider and engage experiences of resilience, strength, affirmation, belonging, transformative joy and other topics that acknowledge the journey of LGBTQ+ individuals in the community.
The public artwork will be selected through an open, two-stage competition. Three candidates will be selected by a Public Art Working Group to advance as finalists and present a proposal with an honorarium paid for their participation.
The budget for artwork is $41,000 (inclusive) and includes fees for design, fabrication,
installation, insurance, travel and other incidental expenses.
Submissions are due Monday, May 17, 2021, 4:00 p.m.
