The COVID -19 pandemic has affected us all, including the arts community, in unique ways. Each of us has survived this historical period of sickness and healing, loss and life, struggles and accomplishments.
The Arts Advisory Commission (AAC) for the City of Hamilton, in partnership with Hamilton Arts Council (HAC), are seeking submissions from Hamilton artists that represent the overall theme of resilience and that contain a message of hope for the future.
We want to hear from you! We are collecting stories celebrating resilience in the arts. The stories will showcase ways in which artists in Hamilton and the surrounding region have found hope, strength and courage to pivot, adapt and create new ways to present and, perhaps, sell their work.
We want you to be part of history! Your experiences from this extraordinary time will express the physical, social and emotional impact of the pandemic, and act as tools for inspiration. This project will be accessible online and used by the AAC to inform future conversations and work about response and recovery of the arts community in Hamilton.
Selected submissions will receive an honorarium of $150. Please note that submission content does not have to be created specifically for the purpose of this project. Please see the submission form for eligibility, and submission guidelines:
We want you to be part of the response and recovery! Selected submissions will be featured on HAC and City websites, on social media and at future AAC events to help guide conversations and work about response and recovery of the Arts Community in Hamilton. Your experiences from this extraordinary time will express the physical, social and emotional impact of the pandemic, and act as tools for inspiration.
