Rebecca Casalino is an artist, writer and curator based in Hamilton, Ontario (Treaty 3) on the land of the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe First Nations people. She has been a practicing artist since completing her degree in Studio Art, with a minor in English, at the University of Guelph in 2017.
Casalino works across mediums often favouring the formats of multiple-making and public projects. She co-managed VS Studios from 2017-2018 running numerous social practice projects with her studio mates. Casalino's curatorial and research practices are based in queer theory and DIY community-based practices. Casalino is a recent graduate from Ontario College of Art and Design with an MFA in Criticism and Curatorial Practice. Her thesis Proud Deviants and Queer Multiples explore Toronto's queer history of multiple making and community building. She is also the host and producer of the arts podcast Hopping the Fence, which is in its second season.
