Host, Megan Divecha, chats with Paromita Kar, a performer of the classical Indian Odissi dance, trained under Odissi maestro Guru Durgacharan Ranbir of Odisha, India, as well as a performer of dances of Rajasthan, and Central Asia and the Middle East. Paromita is the first to complete a PhD in Dance Studies in Canada (York University, 2014). She is the lead dancer and choreographer of Ensemble Topaz.​

 

In this episode, you'll get a front-row seat to 2 performances, "Buxoro Gozal" and "Gulob". Buxoro Gozal is choreographed by Ustoz Kadyr Muminov (People's Artist of Uzbekistan), and features the music, "Buxoro Gozali", arranged via Ustoz Kadyr Muminov. Gulob is choreographed by Ustoz Salomat Raxmonova, and features music arranged by Ulmas Rustamov and Navo Music Group.

You'll also get an insider's look into Theatrix Costume House, est. since 1965, and one of the largest costume collections in all of Canada! With 50,000 costumes to choose from, your Halloween plans are solved, your next Musical will be flawless, and your next film or movie production will have everything it needs. With in-house alterations, Theatrix is your GO-TO place for all things costumes (makeup, accessories and hair!).

We are elated to feature artwork every episode, courtesy of the AGH's Arts Sales & Services. This month's episode features, "City Centre" by Christopher Hall.

​The piece, titled City Center, is a work by local artist Christopher Hall. It is from his series High On Hamilton, a collection of paintings celebrating the cherished landmarks in Hamilton. Christopher is an acclaimed artist in our community, active as a curator and also a celebrated tattoo artist.
